Il violoncellista svizzero e italiano di origini ungheresi Sandro Meszaros considera la musica un mezzo per unire le persone ed esplorare nuove culture. Il suo modo di suonare riflette la convinzione che la musica riesca a creare connessioni là dove le parole non bastano.

Nato nel 2000, ha iniziato a suonare il violoncello a cinque anni, scoprendo presto la passione per la condivisione della musica con gli altri. Oggi si esibisce a livello internazionale come solista e musicista da camera, ed è stato premiato con riconoscimenti come il primo premio al Concorso Internazionale Salieri di Legnago (Verona). Ha collaborato con artisti di fama come Mischa Maisky e Maximilian Hornung.

Dopo gli studi con Emily Walker, Johann S. Paetsch, Taisuke Yamashita e poi Thomas Grossenbacher presso la Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Università delle Arti di Zurigo) e con Maximilian Hornung a Monaco, è entrato a far parte della Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich nel gennaio 2024. Supportato da Rahn Kulturfonds e della Friedl Wald Foundation, continua a sviluppare una carriera attiva in tutta Europa.

È stato nominato Young Artist del Davos Festival per le edizioni 2024 e 2025 e si esibisce regolarmente in festival di musica da camera in tutto il mondo, come il GAIAFestival, il Rheingau Festival e il Pärnu Festival.

Swiss and Italian cellist with Hungarian roots, Sandro Meszaros sees music as a way to bring people together and explore new cultures. His playing reflects his belief that music connects where words fall short.

Born in 2000, he began playing the cello at five and soon discovered his passion for sharing music with others. Today, he performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, and has been awarded prizes such as the first prize at the Concorso Internazionale Salieri di Legnago (Verona). He has collaborated with renowned artists including Mischa Maisky and Maximilian Hornung.

After studies with Thomas Grossenbacher at the Zurich University of the Arts and with Maximilian Hornung in Munich, he joined the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich in January 2024. A scholarship recipient of the Rahn Kulturfonds and Friedl Wald Foundation, he continues to build an active career across Europe.

He is a Davos Festival Young Artist for both 2024 and 2025 and performs regularly at chamber music festivals around the world such as GAIAFestival, Rheingau Festival and Pärnu Festival.
