Sandro Meszaros Swiss and Italian cellist with Hungarian roots, Sandro Meszaros sees music as a way to bring people together and explore new cultures. His playing reflects his belief that music connects where words fall short.
Born in 2000, he began playing the cello at five and soon discovered his passion for sharing music with others. Today, he performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, and has been awarded prizes such as the first prize at the Concorso Internazionale Salieri di Legnago (Verona). He has collaborated with renowned artists including Mischa Maisky and Maximilian Hornung.
After studies with Thomas Grossenbacher at the Zurich University of the Arts and with Maximilian Hornung in Munich, he joined the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich in January 2024. A scholarship recipient of the Rahn Kulturfonds and Friedl Wald Foundation, he continues to build an active career across Europe.
He is a Davos Festival Young Artist for both 2024 and 2025 and performs regularly at chamber music festivals around the world such as GAIAFestival, Rheingau Festival and Pärnu Festival.
